What I learned from RGV

This weekend is filled with the total slaughter on RGV which probably might have influenced the TRP of the so called people’s channel. Well it just shocking and appalling to see the state of telugu media. Not only it hurts the people who are watching it from a view that it is a new channel but also it turns and twists the whole concept of having media.

RGV was one director who went from rags to riches without any “rein forcers”. Before calling him a creative director and a talented maker on should also realize the toil he had to reach the zenith of filmmaking. It’s not by the gauge of success of a film is the directors potential based! It’s the level of confidence and space of being comfortable one can be assessed as an ACE film maker. I bet he can make a movie about any genre and any emotion in the film world. He experimented with fear, anxiety, love, sentiment, drama, comedy and action.

And all of his composure is seen in his interaction with TV9 when he starts listening to their stupid and irrational comments and answers them with what he wanted to day. It’s the Freud in you that makes you come out with irrational emotions when you are attacked verbally or physically. Then the way your ego is brought up translates these irrational emotions into rational thoughts and words. But we see a lot not worthless politicians getting back to these animal instincts when they are perturbed about any of their decision or action. They end up cursing and ranting with all the vocabulary not being expected from a dignitary. However Varma was so rational and started explaining the people the reason he protested their program.

Everyone should learn on how to behave with the media after watching his reaction to them. Media is not a place where a couple of take booze and attack at each other in the most primitive way as possible. Media is a platform for reflection of what is happening in the country. It is going to be a memory of our country, state or region at that chronological point. It’s great that he brought the point that the crew involved in the movie definitely spends a far more time in preparing, executing and presenting the movie rather than a person who comes to watch it for entertainment.

Movie is not just a so called entertainment media! Movie is a director’s dream to nurture and explain a series of incidents. It’s the work of the script writer and the director to get the whole concept out using other people as the enhancers. However the plight of out industry is that its more seen as a hero’s movie rather than a directors movie. That could be a greatest factor contributing to the stupid idol worship of the big stars which has a negative influence on the society.

We should really be proud of being reared up in an environment where we believe Babas can produce vibudhi, politicians can provide us free food and education and entrepreneurs can see at India as a developed country. But we have a disagreement with a person who makes movie for himself and all he takes from you is a 50 bucks of money and 2 and a half hours of time.

Nani....I know that you are a die hard fan of RGV but the guy for me is a perfect commercial director wanting to make money and nothing else. I agree that he is indeed a good director, but watch his recent movie and comment on it.

Its true that the media has gone a little too much but as far as I see it, he is trying to gain some publicity out of the whole incident to promote his crap movie. Coz that guy can go to any extent to make money. Otherwise why would a guy who said " after the debacle of Govinda Govinda he would never make any movie for telugu audiences" come and make crap again??
